هذا الكتاب، وهو في الأصل  أطروحة جامعية (رسالة دكتوراه)، يشكّل تجربة علمية في المنهج والتحليل والتقنيات، كما يشكّل تجربة في قراءة مسار التجديد الإسلامي في أواخر القرن العشرين من خلال نموذج يركز أساساً على ثلاثة مفكرين؛ هم الشيخ محمد مهدي شمس الدين، والدكتور حسن الترابي، والشيخ راشد الغنوشي.

هي قراءة في الخطاب الإسلامي بين السوسيولوجي والمعرفي، ورحلة بحثية في تلافيف الذهن الإسلامي المعاصر، وتجربة تبقى في النهاية قابلة للنقد والتصويب والمناقشة.

This book, initially a PhD. Thesis, takes the shape of a scientific endeavour by way of its methodology, analysis and techniques.

In addition, it constitutes an enterprise that probes the pathway of Islamic innovation toward the end of the twentieth century, task being done by focusing basically upon three thinkers: Sheikh Muhammad Mahdi Shamseddin, Doctor Hassan Atturabi, and Sheikh Rashed Al-Ghannushi.

This book is an attempt at “ reading “ the kind of Islamic discourse having the peculiar nature of wavering between the sociological and the epistemological. It is a journey of quest in the convolutions of the modern Islamic mind and an experience that remains, ultimately, open for criticism, rectification, and debate.
